Analyst Magnets. If you're peddling tech and you haven't been courting
analysts as a conduit to the media, you could be missing out. Sam Whitmore's
Media Survey (http://www.mediasurvey.com)
and the Corte Madera, Calif.-based research firm The Kensington Group (http://www.kensingtongroup.com)
routinely scour 16 of the top tech magazines to determine which analysts are
getting the most play. So far, the joint database includes some 1,200 analysts
and 3,900 quotations. A look at who was quoted most often in May and June:

Magazines tracked include Beyond Computing, Business 2.0, CIO, Computerworld, eWeek/PC Week, Forbes, Fortune, Global Technology Business, InformationWeek, InfoWorld, Mass
High Tech, Red Herring, The Industry Standard, Upside
and VARbusiness.
