'Dark horses' more credible. A new study finds that Washington insiders identify "dark horses" as the most respected journalists covering politics and public affairs.
Jim Lehrer, host of PBS' "Newshour" beat out all the major network competition on the credibility scale, with 26% of respondents naming him as the most respected anchor. Runners
up were NBC's Tom Brokaw (23%), ABC's Peter Jennings (16%), Brit Hume of Fox (14%), and CBS' Dan Rather (10%). The poll, conducted by SWR Worldwide, surveyed senior congressional
and executive branch staff, public affairs execs, and media covering politics and public affairs.
