2013 Digital PR Awards: New Digital Product-Service

Winner: Weber Shandwick: GoLive

In June 2012, Weber Shandwick launched GoLive, a creative service offering that incorporates live storytelling, broadcast quality-production and social distribution. The objective of GoLive is simple: to harness the power of video to get Weber Shandwick's clients' content in front of the right audiences at the right time. GoLive is incorporated into Mediaco, Weber Shandwick's practice that delivers a comprehensive approach to brand publishing.

GoLive is a powerful platform for brands to elevate events, products and thought leadership with a combination of visually stunning stories and the sharing and syndication power of social and digital channels. GoLive can be leveraged to reach both external and internal audiences, and includes production of digital broadcast segments, news conferences, investor meetings and global employee events.

By allowing live, engaging content to be streamed directly to a consumer's mobile phone, tablet, or personal computer, GoLive provides a platform for clients to interact with their audiences in real time. Through syndication on social channels like Facebook, Twitter, and UStream, GoLive creates a dialogue with audiences that drives the conversation before, during and after the event takes place.

To generate interest and anticipation of a GoLive event, Weber Shandwick reaches out through social media assets to entice audiences to watch the live event. The cameras stream directly online along with continued social media engagement, ranging from tweeting live with talent on the air to engaging with other consumers about the event.

Weber Shandwick’s GoLive platform has been successful for a wide range of clients across industries, including technology, education, food and health, travel, and automotive; for example, on behalf of Verizon Wireless, Weber Shandwick executed GoLive events from key conferences like CES and CTIA, creating a GoLive community of more than 20,000 Verizon Livestream subscribers.
