Evanston Township High School School-Based Health Center

Faking a sick day is a bit harder for students at Evanston Township High School in Illinois than it is for other students as the high school has its own school-based health center for its 3,000 students. The center was opened in 1996 as an ambulatory health care department of NorthShore University HealthSystems. In 2007-2008 NorthShore contributed $378,000 which paved the way for the 2,624 visits made by 853 high school students and 221 visits made by 161 elementary students.

IDA Five Year Anniversary

Energy Corporation's Mid South IDA Initiative is showing no signs of slowing down as it reaches its fifth year of existence. Over the past five years, IDA has fought hard to expand wealth-building opportunities in low-income and asset-poor populations in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and southeast Texas. When the initiative was launched there were only six IDA programs in the region; now there are more than 60. The IDA program has raised $1.9 million dollars since its initial funding.
