- United Airlines' parent company announces plans to buy MyPoints.com, an online marketing company, in a deal valued at $105 million. MyPoints gathers consumer information
on and offline to use in selling products and services.
- Sterling Communications, specialists in technology PR, announces expansion of its executive management team. Christopher Corcoran joins the firm as VP and general manager
of the agency's San Jose office. He has held exec positions at UpStart Communications and chiat/day.
- Ernst & Young selects Steven Cody and Edward Moed, partners/co-founders of PepperCom, a New York PR firm, as finalists for the 2001 Entrepreneur of the Year Award. The
two are the only PR professionals tapped for the award (to be announced later this month) in the NYC region.
