  • The percentage of graduates from a college journalism or mass communications program who found full-time employment by the end of October 2001 was 12 points lower than in
    2000, according to the University of Georgia's annual survey of journalism and mass comms graduates. Salaries for those who were able to find work were down nearly $1,000 from
    those reported in 2000. Perhaps most disturbing is the finding that fewer graduates than in 2000 are proud of the field in 2001.
