  • Richard Armstrong, retired president of the Public Affairs Council, passed away this month. The Washington Post reports Armstrong died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
    Armstrong led the Council for 30 years and is widely recognized as a driving force in establishing the importance of public affairs officers.
  • Ogilvy PR launches an entertainment practice serving corporate and celebrity clients. CEO Bob Seltzer says the expansion of the entertainment industry across news, sports,
    technology and lifestyle sectors is behind the decision. The practice will go by the name B/W/R (a firm acquired by Ogilvy in 1999 with offices in New York and Los Angeles) and
    will be led by Henry Eshelman, also head of the corporate entertainment group.
