Medialink procures a temporary restraining order against the company. Katie Paine, president of KDPaine & Partners (and a PR NEWS advisor), left her role as CEO of Delahaye
Medialink early this year and was replaced by Mark Weiner. "It appears they think that I'm in competition with them because we both publish newsletters and offer advice," Paine
says. The restraining order is in effect until a hearing scheduled for June 28. "I'm just the opposite of competition," Paine claims. "I keep recommending Delahaye as a source,
and I'm doing my best to expand the industry. The sad thing is the courts and not communication seem to be the avenue of choice to resolve this." Delahaye Medialink did not
respond to our requests for comment by press time.
The IABC International Conference concludes with the appointment of Annette Martell as chair for 2002-2003. Martell is a Toronto-based consultant with Mercer Human Resource
Consulting and has a 20-year history with the association.
