According to an internal CNN memo obtained by The New York Daily News, you may have better luck pitching the network if you include a few "fly" phrases in your pitch. Senior execs at CNN deny knowledge of the memo, evidently sent by a mid-level producer to the writers who produce the tickers and other copy that runs on the graphics screens for Headline News. But Rolando Santos, Headline News chief, also mentioned the new emphasis on slang words and phrases in an interview with The San Francisco Chronicle. The strategy is apparently geared at reaching a younger and more lucrative audience demographic. (CNN: 404/827-1500)
