STUDENTS TACKLE HURRICANE PROJECT

Supported by the Amoco Foundation, Public Relations Student
Society of America members at Florida International University (FIU)
in Miami developed a 72-page hurricane preparedness guide for South
Florida residents. Approximately 300,000 copies will be distributed
via Amoco Corp. service stations, as well as through outlets of other
corporate sponsors. Students also developed a hurricane tracking map
for use in third-grade science classes at area schools. Two FIU
public relations professors, Bill Adams and Hernando Gonzalez, Ph.D.,
were co-directors of the project. (FIU, 305/919-5795)
