Andrea Risotto is the communications director for the Better World Campaign at the United Nations Foundation. In this role, Andrea works with U.S. policymakers to strengthen the U.N.’s ability to carry out its work across the globe by implementing domestic and international communications and outreach efforts.

Andrea has over a decade of experience leading communications initiatives to improve public policy, including work in the fields of education, consumer finance and environmental conservation. Previously, she was a communications manager at The Pew Charitable Trusts for its global campaign to create large protected areas of ocean, collaborating with local communities and governments around the world. She served as a spokesperson at the U.S. Department of the Treasury during the Great Recession and was communications lead for former New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg’s Office of Financial Empowerment. She spent four years at the U.S. Department of Education, working closely with teachers, school administrators and parents.

Andrea has a master’s degree in Latin American Studies from American University and a bachelor’s degree in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
