In the annals of the Web, PR pros can be forgiven if they view email as the Methuselah of marketing communications. Amid the proliferation of tweets, Facebook posts, and other social messaging, email may seem like a hoary way of spreading the word. But email communications show little sign of losing its value. Indeed, 61% of respondents cited email as the most important tool for online workers, according to a recent survey conducted by Pew Research Center (see PR News, Jan. 12, 2015). Below are some dos and don’ts for effective email marketing campaigns and messaging.
