SHANDWICK BUYS INTO INDIAN FIRM

Shandwick International plc, London, last week announced that it
had purchased a 40 percent stake in Corporate Voice Public Relations,
a Shandwick affiliate firm in Bangalore, India. Commenting on the
move, Shandwick Group's chief executive, Dermot McNulty said, "We see
in India a tremendous market for public relations. The liberalization
process and the opening up of the economy have reinforced the need for
corporations to build more open lines of communication with
stakeholders."

The Indian firm, which will be renamed Corporate Voice/Shandwick
PR, also has branch offices in six other Indian cities: Bombay,
Coimbatore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi and Madras.

Shivanand Reddy, Corporate Voice's top officer, will stay on as
president.
