Say What?

May was National Pet Month. We hereby proclaim June "Be Kind to Journalists Month." (Do we have to apply for some sort of permit?) Here's our motive: we were shocked last
week to find the editor of our sister pub, Multimedia Wire, rocking on the floor and whimpering. When we asked what was wrong, he handed us this release: "NewKidCo
International Inc. (OTC BB: NKCIF; TSE: NKC), announces that it has obtained a US$1,500,000 principal amount secured credit facility. The credit facility has been fully drawn and
amounts owing under the credit facility are due on October 18, 2000. Indebtedness under the facility bears interest at prime plus 2% per annum and is secured by certain of
NewKidCo's assets. NewKidCo also announced it has completed a private placement of Cdn.$2,227,000 principal amount of convertible notes." And it went on.

When our colleague finally spoke, he uttered, "This is the most confusing release I've seen in six years of journalism." Stop the madness!
