When we think of the word "innovative," we think cutting-edge, ahead-of-the-curve, and timely. So we and the folks at our sister publication Satellite News
snickered smugly at a new release from Newpoint Technologies Inc. in Salem, N.H. It read:
"December 22, 1999: The readers of Satellite Communications Magazine, a prominent publisher in the Satellite Communications industry, have selected Newpoint Technologies'
Compass software as the Most Innovate Network Management Software Solution for M&C."
Apparently timing means little to that company's PR department. The release was postmarked Feb. 29, 2000.
