Revving Up

Two new magazine launches to consider: one focusing on
generating revenue and the other on giving money back. New York
City-based financial publisher The Deal is joining forces
with CNET News.com (San Francisco) to produce Tech
Confidential
, a bi-monthly publication covering the business
and financial aspects of technology. The publication, targeting
C-level executives and entrepreneurs working in the technology

Meanwhile, The Points of Light Foundation (Washington,
D.C) recently released the "Business Leadership Forum Brief,"
highlighting award-winning practices in workplace volunteering. The
"Awards for Excellence in Workplace Volunteer Programs" is an
international award honoring businesses of all sizes and from all
industries that have solid employee volunteer programs. Awards
honorees that contributed to this year's discussion include
General Electric, KPMG LLP and Tucson Electric
Power Company
