Doug Fenichel, the director of public relations and communications for K. Hovnanian Homes’ Northeast region, is an outstanding communicator on whom people know they can depend. Recently he was involved in developing the “Ask Me Why” campaign that was launched to educate potential homeowners on why it’s still a good time to purchase a new home, despite the recent reports that have been in the news. The program has been deemed a success and, at this time, other K. Hovnanian divisions are adapting parts of the campaign that work best for them in their markets. Doug also manages the region’s public affairs and issues program, working closely with decision makers in both NJ state and local government. And, he does all this on a shoestring with only one other staff professional.
Besides doing an outstanding job for K. Hovnanian Homes, for which he was named as the company’s MVP in 2005, he also serves as the public information officer for Flanders (N.J.) Fire and Rescue. Doug also recently stepped down as president of the New Jersey Chapter of PRSA.
