PRSA says FCC Should Put the Brakes On…

The PRSA last week called on the Federal Communications Commission to postpone its scheduled June 2 vote to review regulations for media ownership. The 20,000-member
organization distributed a release saying the decision by FCC chairman Michael Powell to extend the period of public comment two days is not enough time to debate the issue.
Depending on how things shake out, the vote could dramatically alter the media landscape and allow for broadcast companies to buy newspapers in the same market, and vice versa.
