Ziff Davis Game Group Announces New Sales and Technology ExecutivesSeptember 6, 2007 | 10:04 am NEW YORK, Sept. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Ziff Davis Game Group, the video game industry leader in ground-breaking, comprehensive content and insight, today announced the appointment of two new executives in the sales and technology groups. Marci Yamaguchi-Hughes has been named senior vice president of sales, while Norris Boothe has been appointed to vice president of product marketing and CTO. "It was a natural fit to have Marci and Norris take on these new roles," states Jason Young, CEO, Ziff Davis Media. "Both Marci and Norris have accomplished incredible feats in their respective fields within the Ziff Davis Game Group and I am confident that through their great direction the 1UP Network will continue to strive in sales, product marketing and continued technology advancements. " Marci Yamaguchi-Hughes has been a driving force in the Game Group sales department for 13 years, managing all gaming and consumer sales and overseeing the first-ever successful integration of print and online sales teams in the marketplace. Through her strong leadership, the 1UP Network's online ad sales have seen significant growth, increasing online ad revenue by 100 percent in the last year, with 54 advertisers running 94 separate ad campaigns thus far this year. In this position, Yamaguchi-Hughes will be responsible for all advertising revenue for the Game Group, managing integrated sales teams for the 1UP Network, Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM) and Games for Windows: the Official Magazine (GFW), as well as Ad Ops and the Promotions department. She will report directly to Jason Young. Norris Boothe was previously director of product marketing for the 1UP Network, where he helped launch MyCheats.com, secured the first 1UP Network syndication deal with ESPN, and managed the redesigns of the 1UP game and community pages. Prior to his work with Ziff Davis Game Group, Boothe was a senior business analyst at Edmunds.com. In his new role as VP of product marketing and CTO, Boothe will manage the product marketing group and technical team, oversee the 1UP Network product roadmap, collaborate with department management to define and plan products, manage the Game Group intranet, and direct all technical aspects of business-critical accounts. He will report directly to Jason Young. Former Executive VP and GM, Ira Becker, has stepped-down from his position after two years with the Game Group to be co-founder of a new company.
