PR Spotlight: Fundraising Effort to Aid PR Executive Needing Double Lung Transplant

Pam Miles, principal in the Arlington, VA-based Miles Communications and past president of National Capital Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America,

has Cystic Fibrosis and must undergo a complete lung transplant within the next six months in order to live. A corps of volunteers, led by members of the PRSA, is leading a

campaign to raise $80,000 for transplant-related expenses not covered by Pam's health insurance. If these funds are not in place, Miles cannot be a candidate for the transplant.

The Friends for Pam Miles Fundraising Campaign launched on June 5, with donations administered by the Children's Organ Transplant Association (COTA). All

donations to the Friends for Pam Miles Campaign through COTA are tax deductible and 100% of all funds will go directly to transplant-related expenses.

Donations can be made online at http://www.cota.org/pammiles. Contributions can also be made in person at any Wachovia Bank branch

location using account number 3000025425861, or via check or money order made payable to COTA for Pam M and mailed to Children's Organ Transplant Association, 2501 COTA Drive,

Bloomington, IN 47403.

The National Capital Chapter of the PRSA designated its "Circle of PR Friends Campaign" to raise funds for Pam's transplant-related expenses through COTA, and is coordinating a

series of raffle sales at its programs and events as well as a silent auction at its Thoth Awards Gala on September 28.
