PR Pulse: Increasing Transparency Top of Mind

PRNewswire recently took the pulse of 600 corporate executives to find out what companies are doing to improve communications with investors and the media. Asked what elements
would help restore investor trust, more than two-thirds of all respondents mentioned elements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 as important or very important. A few of the
elements mentioned were:

  • Requirement for an independent board (84% of the buy-side; 79% of the sell-side; 92% of the media and 87% of corporate IR)
  • Requirements for an independent audit committee (88% of the buy-side; 86% of the sell-side; 87% of the media and 94% of corporate IR pros)
  • New regulations for auditing firms (77% of the buy-side; 73% of the sell-side; 86% of the media and 73% of corporate IR)
