Express of the Pacific Coast League and the Corpus Christi Hooks of the Texas League. He was senior vice president of communications for the Texas
Rangers.
- Transat A.T. Inc., a travel marketing company based in Montreal, appointed Michel Lemay vice president of communications and corporate affairs, a new position. He was
vice president of corporate and financial communications with Optimum Public Relations.
- Spencer Horowitz, founder and president of Spencer Horowitz Public Relations, was elected chairman of the San Jose (CA) Small Business Development Commission, a
public advisory board.
- Hawaii's Maui Ocean Center promoted Liz Smith to marketing and public relations manager. She was public relations manager and will now handle the organization's
marketing as well.
- Ruder Finn's newly launched ethics consulting practice will be headed by senior vice president Emmanuel Tchividjian. Included on the advisory board are: Prakash
Sethi, professor of management at the Zicklin School of Business/ Baruch College, New York; Frank Daly, former corporate ethics officer for Northrop Grumman; and
Fred Wistow, former general counsel for Warner Music Group.
- Southern Oregon University hired Barbara Porter as its first associate vice president for marketing and public relations. She was assistant vice president for media,
marketing and communication at the George Washington Medical Center at George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
- Potomac Communications Group, Inc. added Laura Hermann to its team as the new strategic communications program director for the agency's energy and technology
communications practice. She previously managed public outreach functions for the American Nuclear Society.
- Nina Ventra is the new vice president of public relations for the Chattanooga (TN) Police Department Citizens' Police Academy Alumni Association. Ventra is also a
member of the association's board of directors.
- Tara McNally is a new vice president in the New York office of Formula, a boutique PR agency. She was a group director at Jericho Communications.
