Personal Closure

It hasn't been a good year for personal finance, whether you're
judging by your (401)K or the world of publishing. Either way,
pickings are slim. Bloomberg this month closed its Bloomberg
Personal Finance, with spokespeople saying the company needed to
focus on its core business, which caters primarily to institutional
and not personal investors. Those same spokespeople, however,
conceded - not surprisingly -- that advertising may have been a
factor in the decision. The February issue of the pub will be its
last, and staff from the pub will be reassigned within the
Bloomberg organization. (Bloomberg, Chris Taylor, 212/318-2000)
