Corporate Moves

  • Dan Harrison becomes VP communications at Honeywell's Automation & Control Solutions business segment. He will be responsible for leading worldwide communications,
    including employee communications and crisis management. Prior to joining Honeywell, Harrison was managing director of the St. Louis and Houston offices of Weber Shandwick
    Worldwide.

Association Moves

  • Cheryl Crispen becomes SVP, communications and marketing, for the Mortgage Bankers Association of America. Crispen leaves a role as VP at the Export-Import Bank of the
    United States and will oversee the Association's external and internal comms, marketing, public affairs, media relations and publications.

Agency Moves

  • Hill and Knowlton names Harlan Teller to the newly-created position of global chief client officer. Teller will also continue in his role as president. The newly-created
    position will help manage clients as they grow globally and require different resources from the agency.

    Ron Hartwig returns to H&K from a six-month absence chairing a political campaign. Hartwig will now serve as EVP, chairman of California operations and director of the U.S.
    corporate practice. Bonnie Goodman, a 20-year H&K vet, is named GM of Los Angeles operations, succeeding Hartwig.

  • Ketchum promotes Karen Strauss to EVP/director of global strategic and creative planning. Strauss was an SVP at the firm and helped build the agency's proprietary Ketchum
    Planning Process, a planning methodology used across all Ketchum's divisions.
  • Thomas Goff joins Edelman as SVP of the corporate reputation management practice in the Los Angeles office. Goff previously served in executive communications positions at
    Global Crossing, Lockheed and ARCO.
  • Edward Owens leaves Thomson Financial to join Burson-Marsteller as the managing director of the agency's investor relations and financial services unit. Owens was SVP of
    global consulting at Thomson.
  • Ron Kalb joins Schwartz Communications as SVP in the San Francisco office. Kalb will report to Gary Thompson, GM and EVP for the West Coast. Kalb has more than 23 years of
    experience in PR and was most recently a partner with A&R Partners, Silicon Valley's largest independent agency.

    Schwartz also promotes Sean Audet and Kathleen Gratehouse to directors in the San Francisco office.

  • Joan Hammel comes to Benjamin Weber Shandwick as VP of the firm's Silicon Valley office. Hammel will develop new business opportunities and direct client programs. Hammel
    is a 15-year veteran of Silicon Valley PR.
  • Don Barshinger becomes president and COO of Slack Barshinger. In the expanded role, Barshinger assumes responsibility for day-to-day ops for the 50-person agency. Gary Slack
    becomes chairman and CEO.
