  • James Holtje becomes manager of leadership communications, a new position, at Siemens Corp. Holtje joins Siemens from WPP's Brouillard Communications. He will be
    responsible for writing articles, exec speeches and thought leadership pieces, as well as directing the content of the corporate intranet and a special Web site that allows the
    company's top U.S. leaders to share competitive information and best practices.

  • Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit names Chris Sheldon VP of development and PR. Sheldon was director of marketing and PR for Goodwill.

  • Manning, Selvage & Lee names Robert Baskin SVP, director of client service in Atlanta. Baskin Joins MS&L from Coca-Cola, where he was assistant VP and director of
    marketing communications.
  • Hill and Knowlton New York makes Renee Yosco director of its consumer marketing practice. Yosco specializes in food, nutrition and packaged good marketing. She rejoined the
    office in 2001 after more than three years at H&K London. H&K also appoints Gregory Pettit director of financial relations in New York. Pettit was director of IR at Gavin
    Anderson & Co.
  • Richard Breeden, former chairman of the SEC, teams with Edelman Financial, the financial comms and IR group at Edelman Worldwide, to form a joint venture to advise public
    companies and their boards on corporate governance issues. Edelman Corporate Governance Advisors will help clients assess and benchmark against the competition in areas like
    review of accounting decisions, disclosure policies, ethics standards, internal controls and other issues.
  • Fleishman-Hillard appoints Li Hong SVP and managing director of Fleishman-Hillard Link, the firm's mainland China venture. Hong was managing director for Ogilvy & Mather
    Advertising Beijing and Ogilvy Public Relations Beijing with national responsibilities for public affairs.
  • APCO Worldwide hires Stephen Kehoe, former managing director of Adamson/BSMG Worldwide in Brussels and former senior managing director of Weber Shandwick's global public
    affairs practice, as European director. Simon Whitehead, a former investment banker with Morgan Grenfell and a Russia expert, also joins APCO Europe, as an associate director.
  • Lisa Sullivan and Melissa London, both former marketing communications execs for software firm Red Hat, form Hats Off Communications, a strategic marketing and communications
    consulting firm. Sullivan was VP of marketing communications for Red Hat, and London was director of PR.
  • Hart Associates, a marcom firm in Ohio, promotes Timothy Hart to EVP. Hart has been with the company for more than 15 years. The firm also promotes Jeffrey Zawodny to
    SVP/creative director.
  • The Blaze Company, a PR firm in Venice, Calif., hires Steve Spurgeon as VP. Spurgeon is an expert in issues campaigns, and has counseled clients in aviation, automotive, real
    estate and youth entertainment markets.
  • Mary Brophy, formerly a VP at Edelman in Chicago, joins CKPR of Milwaukee as VP. CKPR is a four-office PR firm launched last fall by Cramer-Krasselt Co.
