The international skating community took another hit in the reputation last week when an alleged Russian crime boss was arrested on charges he tried to fix the pairs and ice
dancing competitions at the Salt Lake City Olympics. The man, charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and conspiracy to commit bribery relating to sporting contests, is said
to have been involved in judging inconsistencies that led to double gold medals in pairs skating and a contested outcome in the ice dancing competition.
