Nonprofit PR Awards 2012 Winners

 

Winner

"Committed," "passionate," "resourceful." These are just a few adjectives that aptly describe the communications professionals behind this year's PR News Nonprofit PR Award winners and honorable mentions. We saluted them all at a March 15, 2012, luncheon event in Washington, D.C.

At the luncheon, keynote speaker Calvin Stowell, social media strategist for DoSomething.org, shared how his nonprofit organization uses the power of digital media to get teens involved in the offline activities of the causes they care about. We would also like to thank the awards ceremony co-presenters: Melinda Machado, director, office of public affairs, National Museum of American History, Smithsonian Institution; Larry Parnell, associate professor of strategic PR, Graduate School of Public Management, George Washington University; and Aaron Sherinian, vice president for communications & public affairs, UN Foundation.
