Wirthlin Woldwide Ventures Into Singapore with Alliance

Singapore, one of the hottest growing PR markets (See PR NEWS, Feb. 10, 1997), has attracted a leading international strategic research and consulting firm: Wirthlin Wordlwide.

The office is Wirthlin's third in the Asia-Pacific region and will serve as a company base for Withlin's business endeavors in that region. The office is at 331 North Bridge Road, #16-01/03 Odeon Towers.

In unveiling the opening, Wirthlin also announced its strategic partnership with Burson Marsteller which it will provide services in Singapore and several surrounding countries. Bruce W. Kaufer Miller Communications Opens San Mateo Office

Marcom house Kaufer Miller Communications, Bellevue, Wash., has opened an office in San Mateo, Calif., to have a PR presence in this booming West Coast technology corridor. Among Kaufer's Bay area clients are Internet search engine company Yahoo!, which it is assisting with investor relations projects and Fawcette Technical Publications, for which it promotes conferences.

Wolf Group Acquires Meldrum

Wolf Group, Toronto, acquired on March 18 Meldrum & Fewsmith Communications, Great Lakes, to create an integrated firm providing advertising, promotions, PR, direct marketing, classifieds and new media services to clients worldwide.

The company, which has offices in Cleveland, Buffalo, Rochester and Toronto, has projected combined annual billings in 1997 of about $200 million. (Wolf Group, 416/967-9000)

Benjamin Group Expands Southern California Site

PR and marketing firm The Benjamin Group Inc., Irvine, Calif., has moved to 1851 East First Street, Suite 120, Santa Ana, Calif. 92705-4017. The move more than doubled the company's space and will allow the business to serve more clients and add more staff. (The Benjamin Group, 714/245-7500)

Temerlin McClain PR Opens Austin Office

Temerlin McClain PR, a division of Temerlin McClain Advertising, recently opened an office in Austin, Texas, at 701 Brazos Street, Suite 780. In addition, Temerlin staffers reported that the company is expanding its service network by teaming with the Bozell Sawyer Miller Group to branch its PR services into New York, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Boston and Cleveland. Temerlin's Austin operation includes:

  • Chuck McDonald, who served as press secretary and director of communications for former Texas Governor Ann Richards;
  • Mike Lake, who spent four years in the Reagan/Bush White House and worked on the Reagan and Bush campaigns;
  • Zack Dawes, who was political director for Kent Hance's successful campaign for Texas railroad commissioner; and

Core Creative Moves

Core Creaive Inc., an advertising, PR and Internet marketing services company headquartered in Milwaukee, has moved to 126 N. Jefferson Street, Suite 401, Milwaukee, Wisc. 53202. The move, however, comes with some other Core changes: a new logo and corporate symbol of a lawn chair which company execs said mirrors Core's business philosophy of being "unpretentious, affordable, fun and practical."
