- Study Reveals Organizational Skills Are Key to Success
With so much to do and so little time to do it, many professionals cannot seem to get organized no matter how high a priority is placed on a task, according to a recent study conducted by Irvine, Calif.-based CDB Research & Consulting, which follows national consumer attitudes and trends. CDB is a subsidiary of the PR house Creamer Dickson Basford.
The study, which surveyed 250 adults nationwide (18 years and older), found that almost half of them claim to need better organizational skills.
"Many admit that they could perform their job more efficiently and effectively if only they were more organized, yet they fail to actually follow through and improve their organizational skills," said Dr. Larry Chiagouris, executive VP and managing director of the consulting firm. The study also found:
- 61% of adults admit that success in business is directly related to one's organizational skills.
- 40% have a desire to be more organized.
- More men than women value the importance of organization (66% men vs. 57% women).
