New Features

Sweeter Deal. Honey Magazine is modeling a makeover courtesy of its new parent company, Vanguarde Media, which acquired the title last month. The beautified lifestyle
book hit newsstands last week with a host of new departments targeting 18-34 year-old multicultural women, and an increased focus on fashion and beauty (the title now boasts an
entire fashion department). But the mag's main mission is still about empowering young honeys. For example, a new feature, "Head Honey in Charge" focuses on businesswomen making
shrewd career moves. Pitch fashion ideas, beauty products (such as spa treatments), beauty Web sites, and other resources to Editor-in-Chief Asondra Hunter at 315 Park Ave. S.,

Rich Rewards. Exactly how trendy is your dish? If it's sizzling, consider skipping the story beat and pitching an idea for a new magazine title. H&S Media capitalized on
the great TV game show comeback earlier this month and launched How to Strike it Rich, an 80-page one-shot for game show enthusiasts. H&S marketing manager Paulina
Brooks says the company is open to publication ideas focusing on hot trends or events. Other recent one-shots have highlighted Walter Payton, the Backstreet Boys, JFK Jr. and the
Super Bowl champion St. Louis Rams. "The idea should be unique, exclusive and timely, with no other competition in print media," she says. Pitch one-shot ideas to Brooks at
