Industry Recognition

Business & Health won a Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism
award for "Best news coverage" for the article, "Patients' Rights Under Managed
Care."

Coxhead, and Catherine Brown for their work on "Pediatric Puzzler."
Another award
for "Best how-to article or subject-related series of how-to articles" went
to Karen Bardossi, Molly Frederick, John DeNapoli, Ann Dixon, Sarah Coxhead,
and Catherine Brown for "Overcoming ALTephobia."

Medical Economics won two Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism
awards for articles published in its OB-GYN Edition. An award for "Best single
article" went to Rebecca Kightlinger, Barbara Weiss, Gail Garfinkel Weiss, Elvse
Carter, Andrea Frascogna, Elizabeth O'Brien, and Linda DeVenuto for their work
on "Sloppy Records - The Kiss of Death for a Malpractice Defense."
Another award
for "Best staff-written editorials on one or several subjects" went to Barbara
Weiss, Gail Garfinkel Weiss, Elvse Carter, Elizabeth O'Brien, Linda DeVenuto,
and JoAnn H. Dempsey for "Memo from the Editor."

Internal Moves

CleanRooms
George Miller, editorial director, has been replaced by Michael Levans,
chief editor. Levans oversees editorial direction, assigns and edits stories,
solicits articles, and disseminates appropriate information to staff. He's interested
in new technologies, market trends, standards issues, and new construction related
to contamination control in the semiconductor, electronics, pharmaceutical,
and life sciences industries.
