The first few months of 1999 alone were witness to some bold PR business moves. Just several days into January, Ketchum acquired Sheppard Associates to build a global $20-million-plus Workplace Communication Practice.
Many other partnerships have been struck, including these of note:
- Weber dipped its virtual toes into multimedia Internet press conferences with partner Electronic Media Communications;
- Newscast Today owner WavePhore acquired Internet monitoring company eWatch; and
- Medialink purchased media analysis firm Delahaye (see story below for a recent study released by Delahaye).
Even diehard independent Daniel Edelman said that an acquisition of his firm wasn't out of the question.
