Language Barriers…

More than a third of the world's corporate executives are unfamiliar with the term "stakeholder," according to a survey spanning 26 countries. The research, conducted by Indianapolis-based Walker Information Global Network, gauged the degree to which global business leaders are applying the now 25-year-old "stakeholder theory" in defining key audiences such as employees, investors, customers, government officials and the media. While 71% of respondents named one or more of these key groups in their missions, the term "stakeholder" wasn't necessarily used in defining the role or impact of the group.
