Style is the newest member of the cable network E! Family. It launched in October as a 24-hour network devoted to the world of style, fashion and design. The network's original programming is perfect for your pitching radar screen. On Style, a 60-minute program, explores the world of style including photography and decorating. The show could also include topics such as hairstyles, skin care and wine.
A 30-minute show called Model features interviews with celebrities such as Claudia Schiffer and Cheryl Tiegs. Homes with Style is another 30-minute show that features either small spaces, such as kitchens or gardens, or the entire home. Elycia Rubin, talent manager, fashion, says producers need fashion designers, decorators and architects to interview. Dining in Style, a 30-minute show, about the restaurant world where food and design are married to produce an elegant ambiance, is a viable pitch but will be on hiatus for a few months.
Rubin says the network plans to launch one-hour specials called Style Maker that will profile the people behind the style such as make-up artists and photographers.
The staff is looking for ideas for all shows but in particular for the Homes with Style show, she says. Lead time is one to two months for all programs.
Mail or fax press kits; don't harass the staff by a flooding them with follow-up calls. To place a guest on the show, target Andrea Feldberg, talent coordinator and Lori Schaeffer, talent executive.
