International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), with headquarters in San Francisco, is seeking a President for this multi-service, 13,700-member not-
for-profit organization and global network of more than 100 chapters. IABC provides products, services, leadership experiences, training activities and networking opportunities to
help people and organizations achieve excellence in public relations, employee communication, marketing communications, public affairs and other forms of organizational
communication. The president is the chief staff officer of the association and directs a 25 member staff and $6 million-plus budget. The successful candidate will be a proven
organizational leader with business vision, exceptional management skills, a consultive style and keen understanding of practices, trends and emerging issues in organization
communications and public relations. Working intimately with the volunteer executive board and other leaders throughout the association, the president directs marketing, financial
management, strategic planning, annual convention/trade show coordination, member communications, fund-raising and sponsorships, oversight of the IABC Research Foundation,
professional accreditation and recognition programs, staff development and building effective relationships with allied organizations. The president is also responsible for IABC's
web-based enterprise, TakingBusinessNow.com. Need a minimum of 10 years in leadership positions in communications/marketing agency, membership organization, trade or professional
association, franchising or a large corporate communication setting. MBA in Marketing or Administration preferred. Professional accreditation a plus. This is a demanding position
requiring frequent domestic and international travel. The successful candidate over time will become a statesman and spokesman for the PR/communications industry. Send cover
