Director of Global Internal Communications and Corporate Media Relations at Nike Corporation (Beaverton, OR). Nike Corporation is one of the world's foremost designers, developers and marketers of high quality footwear, apparel, equipment and accessory products for both the amateur and professional sports industries. Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Communications, the Director of Global Internal Communications and Corporate Media Relations will develop and lead Nike's internal communications efforts ensuring that a common understanding of Nike's vision and strategic direction, as well as its culture as a global enterprise, occurs with all employees. In addition, this professional will be responsible for the development and implementation of a global corporate media relations effort focusing predominantly on business and financial media. Nike's communications department is globally matrixed, so this candidate will need to partner with other communications professionals throughout the world. The successful candidate must have a minimum of 10 years experience in public relations/corporate communications within a global environment, with at least 8 years of supervisory experience preferred. This professional must be a leader and a team builder, and have the intellectual mindset to be able to influence senior management in both internal communications and media relations. A thorough understanding of new media technology (Internet, CD-ROM; on-line service, wireless services, etc.) is also necessary.
