Internal Relations Boots-up

Beefing up their Web dexterity, Ford Motor Co. and Delta Airlines plan to give their employees computer/Internet access for a nominal fee. Delta employees will pay around $12 a
month for the hardware and access while Ford workers will pay $5. Both systems will include a monitor, CPU, speakers and a modem that will connect workers to the Web and their
company's intranets.

Representatives for both companies say the move is designed to ensure their employees are computer/Internet savvy, a vital attribute for corporations hoping to staying
competitive in today's marketplace. For Ford the deal could also help reverse its morale problem. Although Delta would not divulge what the venture is costing, estimators for Ford
put it around $300 million over three years.
