Infographic: B2B Companies Well-Represented in Fortune 100 Social Effectiveness Index

Two rather unlikely names lead the list of the just-released Fortune 100 Social Effectiveness Index, researched and compiled by Blue Ocean Market Intelligence.

Aerospace and defense giant Honeywell International topped the Index, with financial services company American International Group—which in the last few years has gone through a rough patch, to put it mildly—coming in second. Here’s the Top 10:

  1. Honeywell International
  2. American International Group
  3. Metlife
  4. Aetna
  5. Chevron
  6. Express Scripts Holding
  7. Ingram Micro
  8. General Electric
  9. Oracle
  10. Walt Disney

The number of B2B companies that placed near the top of the list truly demonstrates the effectiveness of social media in that space.

Blue Ocean says it measured the social platforms of the Fortune 100 in five areas: share of voice, identification of influencers and advocates, engagement rate, touch rate and net sentiment. These areas of concentration could serve as a blueprint for how CCOs and PR managers and directors should develop, executive and measure social media programs.
