IABC Survey Finds Members Happy in their Work

The findings from an IABC survey of its membership, released last week at the IABC International Conference in Chicago, shows that overall, communicators are satisfied with
their jobs (as opposed to a recent WorkinPR survey that showed 70 percent dissatisfaction with PR jobs - PRN, June 10). The survey of 1,349 members showed most communicators have
consistent access to senior management, and more organizations are recognizing the need to formally measure communications. Not all news from the survey was so positive, however.
The reported average annual salary went down 3 percent over the last two years, and budgets are twice as likely to have decreased in the past year when compared to 2000 data.
