Howell Raines Supreme at NYT

Come September, keep an eye on The New York Times. Many media industry insiders predict there could be big changes when Howell Raines, currently the editor of the editorial
page, takes over as executive editor from Joseph Lelyveld, who is retiring. The outspoken Raines has been said to have been at odds with Lelyveld, and some predict the paper's
coverage will change once Raines takes the helm. Raines gave his take to AP, saying, "The first and foremost part of [my] responsibility is to preserve The New York Times'
tradition of quality journalism."
