Affluenza. The economy may be on a downswing, but Vanguarde Media is betting on a new book that's all about affluence. SAVOY will target successful, educated
African Americans between the ages of 25 and 54, a market the magazine's founder calls "today's new Black Power generation." Named for the Savoy Ballroom of the Harlem
Renaissance, the magazine will cover general interest and style through the eyes of prominent African American editors and columnists. The first issue, on newsstands Jan. 2, has
an initial circulation the publishers only refer to as "significant." SAVOY debuts with an interview with former BET CEO Robert Johnson, and a cover story on hot young
actress Gabrielle Union. Direct pitches to editorial director and editor-in-chief Roy Johnson. [email protected] or

Forum this month with an initial circulation of 100,000 accredited investors. It offers trends among start-ups, leads on high-quality deal flow and hot new companies, and
lifestyle features on how angel investors merge their lifestyles with investing interests. Christine Miles is editor. For more information see http://www.angelsociety.com/advisor.html or call 212/248-5580.
