Will Lucky Charm Readers? Condé Nast is hoping to hit the jackpot with the launch of Lucky, a magazine that fuels the addictions of shopaholics by rose-coloring spending as a
popular social activity and art form. The inaugural issue hit newsstands last week with an 11-page homage to shoes, plus coverage of more eccentric topics such as "fabulous dogs"
and "best olive oils." Kim France, formerly a content editor for Spin and fashion reporter for New York magazine, is on board as editor-in-chief, but publishers are waiting to see
if the concept, er, sells before hiring more editorial staff. Watch for a second test issue in the fall. (Robert Pini, 212/286-6993, [email protected])
