Health Screening. Kaleidoscope Network shoots for healthy ratings with the launch of "Women's HealthGuide," a new TV series set to launch nationally June 29 on PAX TV. The
show, hosted by former Miss USA Kim Tomes, will offer medical updates and tips on fitness, nutrition, cooking and maintaining mind/body balance. Each episode will feature advice
from Dr. Joyce Brothers and other experts. The half-hour show will kick off on Thursdays and Fridays at noon (Eastern and Pacific), but will increase to Monday through Friday at
11:30 a.m. starting Sept. 25. Programming is interactive, and content will be routinely integrated with the Web site kALIVE.com, which provides viewers/users with deeper access to

analysis of Asian financial companies. The Hong Kong-based e-zine is fed by 10 dedicated journalists covering equity and debt markets, M&As, foreign exchange, treasury
markets, risk management and I/R, with a heavy emphasis on tech stories. Target audiences include CEOs, CFOs, institutional investors, bankers and consultants. The site's "hard

CBC Needs CPR. The Canadian Broadcasting Corp. (CBC) will institute a round of hefty layoffs and restructure its English-language TV service in an effort to fashion itself
after the British BBC and American PBS models, Reuters reports. Speaking at a news conference, CBC President Robert Rabinovitch described the broadcaster as being "on life
support" due to viewer attrition. The company plans to launch an early morning national news program and bolster children's programming in an effort to shore up its competitive
edge.
