Pediatric hospitals can make sure their patients get an opportunity to speak to old St. Nick through a unique holiday videophone promotion, "Call Santa." Sponsored by 8x8, a Las Vegas manufacturer of video conferencing systems, the promotion allows hospitals to hook up a VC-105 videophone to any conventional TV and telephone for children to call Santa, who is stationed in one of its offices in Santa Clara, Calif.
The unit costs $300 to $400 with a holiday rebate of $150 per pair. Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, and Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore, Md., currently are participating in the promotion.
