7.6 million broadband subscribers in the U.S. and 1.7 million in Canada, represent a North American penetration rate of about 8.2% for high-speed broadband access. Seventy
percent of broadband subscribers connect to the Web via a cable modem while 2.9 million subscribers use DSL. While numbers are up, 91.8% of North American still surf using slower
connection speeds. Don't design that all-Flash Web site just yet.
