From the PR NEWS Files: A Brief Pitch

We're giving kudos to Laughlin/Constable for two great press kits that came across our desks this week. Here's a brief and amusing look at the first:

For a promotion the firm's working on for client Fruit of the Loom's new comfort brief, it sent out the tiniest pair of briefs we've ever seen. Each press kit cost $5, including shipping.

Apparently other journalists found this as humorous as we did: the promotion's already received ink in AdAge and AdWeek.

A factory manufactured 1.5 million pairs of briefs - that will be part of advertising inserts - out of 36,000 pounds of fabric.

The first magazine insert will be in Rolling Stone's September issue that hits the stands tomorrow, according to PR exec Christel Henke.

Next week, a look at L/C's palatable campaign for Firstar.
