2012 Rising Stars of PR: Emily Zanovich

Emily Zanovich

Vice President, Porter Novelli

Emily Zanovich began her career with Porter Novelli Life Sciences in 2005 as an intern in Porter Novelli’s San Diego office, working with early stage biotechnology companies such as Orexigen, Amylin and Intermune as well as the Biotechnology Industry Organization.

As a member of the Gillette team, Zanovich focused on upstream planning for multiple future global product launches and contributed to ideas surrounding the launch of the "Masters of Style" campaign featuring Andre 3000, Adrien Brody and Gael García Bernal, as well as Gillette's Great Starts Olympic campaign. Zanovich developed global marketing toolkits for the launch and campaign implementation of several product launches for Venus (Embrace and Bikini Trimmer) as well as Gillette (ProGlide, Mach3 Sensitive and Gillette Odor Shield deodorants).

Zanovich created and leads Porter Novelli's "Room with a View" roundtable series, which brings together industry stakeholders to discuss key issues/topics/challenges in Porter Novelli's beautiful offices on the 36th floor of 7 World Trade Center.

App she can’t live without
: The New York Times digital app—I love to be in the know about what's going on in the world at all times. Nike + Running, Spotify and Facebook aren't far behind, though.

Inspiration in her PR career: “
I have had the opportunity to work with some extremely talented people who have both inspired me and encouraged me, from Marian Salzman who created the term "metrosexual" to Susan Atkins who launched biotechnology's first product to Susan Hayes who was a pioneer in HIV/AIDS corporate responsibility.”
