Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island ­ Blue Angel Employee Volunteer Program

The BCBSRI's Blue Angel program is dedicated to making a difference in the Rhode Island community. While the company provides paid time off annually for volunteering, most BlueAngel events take place after hours or on weekends. The BCBSRI's three-year average volunteer rate is a whopping 45 percent, almost double that of the average volunteer rate in Rhode Island.

CA, Inc ­ Together in Action

CA, Inc's employee volunteer program, CA Together in Action, was established in 2006. In 2008, the program expanded from a two-week to one-month event and read and received over 1,200 employees 'globally' participating in team volunteer projects in the month of October. Projects included beach and park cleanup, mentoring children, house building, and assisting food banks.

It's Official: Weber Shandwick is "Green"

Weber Shandwick North America, with its 24 offices and approximately 1,200 employees, set a goal of becoming one of the first multi-office PR agencies in the U.S. to be ISO certified. The goal was achieved on May 15, 2008. And the hard work continues; every Weber Shandwick North America office complies with ISO certification requirements by conducting weekly office inspections and submitting a monthly report.

Dominion ­ Military Appreciation Week

Spurred by winning the Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award, Dominion decided to mount a weeklong salute to the men and women of Dominion entitled "Military Appreciation Week." The communications campaign consisted of daily stories and videos, a new internal Troop Support Web site, and the introduction of multiple modes of overseas communication.
