FEMALE PURCHASERS ARE ATTRACTED TO COMFORT

Marketing adjustable beds in your hospital just may attract female patients. According to a new study, comfort is the most important feature women look for when making a purchase.

A new study, titled the Rockport New Comfort Survey by Roper Starch Worldwide, indicates women strongly believe there is a direct correlation between physical and mental well-being that transcends everything from the quality of healthcare women choose today to the type of clothing and footwear they purchase.

According to Roper Starch, there are a number of factors driving this new attitude toward comfort. Economic factors, changing values about work and leisure and loosening of appearance standards are three important ones.

"Americans are looking for flexibility, simplification and comfort at the physical, emotional and psychological levels. This has led to dramatic changes in their behavior at home, at work, and in hospitals," according to Carolyn Setlow, group senior VP at Roper Starch.
