Public Expects Biz to Support Health


â–¶ Healthy Business: According to an Edelman survey, health is catching up with “green” as a key CSR issue—73% of respondents said that protecting public health is just as important as protecting the environment. Other findings include:

• 69% said businesses specifically should put as much effort into maintaining and improving personal and public health as they put into the environment.

• While supporting healthy living for employees and their families is considered vital (by 77%), 92% believe companies should be engaging in other ways, too.

• Top methods for businesses to engage with public health include: supporting the health of local communities (71%), educating the public on health topics related to the business’ product or service (75%), creating new products or services that maintain and improve personal health (also 75%) and helping to address obesity (70%).
